Butterfingers, Transcendence 20th Anniversary concert

This would be my second Butterfingers gig, the first one being a 2 day back to back Kembali + 10th anniversary of Transcendence at Istana Budaya back in 2009. Wow it has been 10 years already!

With Spotify available nowadays, we were able to do our revision of the first 3 albums by Butterfingers that the band would be playing this time around. Yes, the band mentioned this on their Instagram and Facebook prior to the gig.

It turned out that Transcendence was played in its entirety and in sequence!  It was then followed by selected songs from Butter Worth Pushful (1997) and 1.2 Milligrams (1996). So as you could imagine, we were treated with a 3 hour performance by the band ( a few hiccups though as the bassist Kadax was missing from a few songs due to exhaustion).  This was indeed a feat requiring high fitness level to be performing for 3 hours. Luckily for us we were seated for the concert - I anticipated that I would not be able to endure free standing for the entire concert! I was also impressed with the visuals that accompanied the performance.

It was a pity though that Emmett didn't play the guitar to cover for Loque when Kadax was missing, or the sound would have been complete. This was especially crucial in the 1.2 Milligrams section when there was only guitar (except Royal Jelly with drum and bass).
