After settling everything at the SJJ airport, we drove about 1.5 hours (90km) on the highway with toll costing BAM 5.5 (paid with credit card) towards our Hotel Vezir Palace at Travnik and arrived at about 2.30 pm. It was drizzling when we arrived, and I had forgotten to bring my jacket this time around (it was left behind the door at home- lesson learnt is to just pack the jacket inside my luggage as I always did!). Luckily it did not rain too heavily and I survived with just my quick dry long sleeved t-shirts, worn double layer (as it was quite cold at 15 C) with tights under my pants.
Our room with breakfast cost RM 186 (EUR 38) per night booked from booking.com, paid through booking.com and city tax of BAM 5 paid by cash.

After refreshing ourselves (almost a day without shower), we set out to the restaurant Castel on Hendek just in front of the hotel and had mixed grill set for 2 for BAM 74 (cash only). The portion was big, we couldn't finish the fries, so we just finished up the meat. We checked with the owner, he said that he is Muslim and the dishes are halal.

After lunch, we walked to Travnik fortress just beside the restaurant and paid entrance fee of BAM 8 for 2 persons. The fortress is small, we covered it in 30 minutes and had views of Travnik city (reminded us of Safranbolu in Turkiye) and a small exhibition in the fort tower. There is also a hiking trail Bukovica nearby but we didn't hike there.

We then walked down the hill towards the Ornamented mosque (Džamija Sulejmanija) and admired the beautiful Ottoman design of the mosque. There is a fish pond within the vicinity of the mosque and the river Lasva flowing nearby. We walked a bit around the charming little town, bought some groceries at a mini market and then walked to Plava Voda (blue water) café to have coffee and tea by the river.

It was then already sunset at 7pm so we walked back to our hotel to rest for the day after travelling for a day without a proper sleep yet.
