Aurlandsfjord and Naeroyfjord cruise

Sat 25 Jan 2020

Flam to Bergen

Today we would be taking the ferry through Aurlandsfjord and Naeroyfjord, a Unesco World Heritage site from Flam to Gudvangen. The Naeroyfjord is narrow and steep-sided by crystalline rock walls that rise up to 1400 m direct from the Norwegian Sea and extend 500 m below sea level. (from Unesco World Heritage site).

The one way ferry cruise cost NOK 465 from Flam to Gudvangen. Our ferry cruise departed at 9.30 am. We bought the ticket online from Visit Flam website prior to our departure to Norway. The ferry cruise took about 2 hours. We arrived at Gudvangen at 11.30am. It was cloudy and misty today, and the wind blew quite strongly at certain parts, so my plan to hang out at the deck for the whole journey was cut short as I sought refuge in the warmth of the cabin.

Arriving at Gudvangen

Gudvangen

From Gudvangen, we took the bus to Voss for NOK 60 per person. We bought the bus ticket from the bus driver. It is a nice little town, it's a shame we couldn't spend more time to take pictures here as our bus departed at 12 noon.
