Kandersteg

After having our self made breakfast of fried rice, we left our apartment for Kandersteg, taking the 10.21am train which we booked through the SBB app for CHF 29.9 (RM 150) per person, a Point to Point (PTP) ticket as the transit time to change platforms was too short. But we made it eventually, albeit with some sprinting. Nevertheless, the price difference between Supersaver and Point to Point ticket was merely 2.7 CHF, so we bought the PTP to be safe.

We arrived Kandersteg at 12.15pm but couldn't check in yet to our apartment, booked through Booking.com for CHF 245 (RM 1235) for 2 nights. It is an old low ceiling wooden house but absolutely lovely. The cleaning lady was still cleaning the house so we left our bags in the house and went to check out the Coop supermarket for groceries shopping. It is located near the train station. This time we bought garlic and onions to fry rice with, eggs, milk, butter, Evian water and salmon. Our groceries today cost 27.65 CHF (RM 138)

After groceries shopping, the cleaning was already completed so we could already check in the apartment using the key in the safe lock which we received the code number from the owner. After that we cooked late lunch of salmon (this time the salmon was juicier compared to the different type we bought at Täsch) with rice, eggs and salad.

After lunch we walked towards the Oeschinensee cable car parking, just taking photos and then walked back to Kandersteg village to check out the area. We would only be taking the cable car up tomorrow.

Not much to do today, it was winter after all and sunset is at 5.30pm We just called it a day and enjoyed watching Day of the Jackal series on our local cable app to utilise our roaming data.
