Mon 15/9/25
Today we would be hiking at the Nature Park Puez Geisler / Puez Odle. After preparing and having breakfast of fried rice, we drove to the Parking Malga Zanes, located just about 20 mins from our apartment. We utilised our Sudtirol Guess Pass to get a 50% discount of parking for EUR 5 (from EUR 10) per entry.

We arrived at the parking at 8.30am and then started out our hike via trail 36 to Rifugio Delle Odle. There was no mobile connection once we reached the car park, so I had to rely on memory of the name of the destination (Rifugio Delle Odle) and follow the signages. Partner In Crime also had offline maps handy, so we also used the app (Maps.me) to guide us.

We reached Dusler Alm first after about 1 hour of hike where we could see the first glimpse of the peaks. The Dusler Alm hut is closed, so we proceeded to "Cinema delle Odle" or the viewpoint, which we reached at 10.15 am.

We sat at the benches there to enjoy the magnificent view with hot peppermint tea and sandwiches that we packed from our apartment. Another hut nearby, Geisleralm was also closed.

After enjoying our little picnic, we proceeded to the next hut, Malga Casnago, which was opened. We had a cup of cappucino here (EUR 3.10, paid cash) as Partner In Crime wanted to use the toilet.

We returned to the carpark using a different trail where we passed by Adolf-Munkel-Weg monument, with more beautiful views of the Geisler-Odle mountains.

We arrived back at the car park at 1.30pm. I clocked in a distance of 10.18 km with 423m elevation gain.

We continued our trip today to the panoramic view point of Santa Magdalena. We followed the signage as per in google maps and hoping it would be the correct spot. We parked at St Magdalena car park at Bergerweg, located by a river. The parking cost EUR 4 and is valid until 10pm today. Not far from the car park is a public toilet which cost 50 cents.
We walked for about 40 minutes from the car park to the view point, passing through a village. Cars are not allowed to be driven here. We also saw no drones signage here.

It turned out to be the correct spot for the Santa Magdalena church with the Odle mountains in the background. There were already many tourists there when we arrived. We returned back to the car park after taking pictures and marvelling at the views.

Tonight we had another dinner of pan seared salmon with rice and tomatoes which we cooked at the apartment and called it a day. I also bought the parking spot for Tre Cime Lavaredo for EUR 40, booked a spot for Friday 19/9/25 at 7.30am since the spot for Thu 18/9/25 was already fully booked.
Note: I only realised the next day, after purchasing the parking reservation, that it is possible to hike up to Tre Cime free of charge from a parking spot near Moos. More on that later.
